Tax Advisory

Your tax year, handled.

Tax Advisory is a year-round tax relationship. One monthly fee covers the return, the planning windows through the year, and the estimates and letters in between.

Tax Advisory is available to families who have completed the Keystone Method™ with Talley Wealth. That engagement builds the full financial picture, and the full picture is what makes the tax work this specific. Once it is complete, two ongoing services open, each optional: Wealth Advisory through Talley Wealth carries the plan, the strategy, and the investments, and Tax Advisory handles the tax work through the year, and files. Many families choose both, and either stands on its own. Talley Tax is a separate business, and Tax Advisory is always optional and priced separately.

What Tax Advisory covers

One relationship for the tax work through the year. It covers three things.

01

The return

Prepared, reviewed, and signed by David. Documents come in through your secure client portal, the finished return is delivered there with a plain-English summary of what it says, and the e-file authorization is signed there from your phone. After filing, we review what the return revealed and schedule the follow-ups.

02

The planning windows

A Return Review, a projection right after it, withholding and estimates set to match, and a tax strategy session while decisions are still open. With Wealth Advisory, the Return Review and the strategy session are part of your planning sessions.

03

The follow-through, all year

Every decision gets its own deadline the day it is made, and each one is carried on its own timeline. Quarterly estimates calculated and sent, IRS letters handled by the office, and tax questions answered as they come up, with no hourly meter.

Five windows, and follow-through that never waits.

This is the rhythm Tax Advisory runs on. Every client's year follows it.

1

Mid-February to April 15

Tax prep

The return is prepared and filed, and we note what it revealed for the year ahead.

Filed by Apr 15

2

May to mid-June

Return Review

What last year’s return shows about this one. With Wealth Advisory, it’s part of your first planning session.

Q2 estimate Jun 15

3

Mid-June to mid-July

Projection

This year’s taxes projected from real numbers, right after the Return Review.

4

August to mid-October

Withholding and estimates

Withholding and estimated payments set to match the projection.

Q3 estimate Sep 15

5

Mid-October to early December

Tax strategy session

Roth conversions, charitable timing, contributions, and owner decisions, while there is still time to act. With Wealth Advisory, it’s part of your second planning session.

Year closes Dec 31

Execution, all year underneath. Every decision gets its own deadline the day it is made: some close April 15, some plans have to exist by October 1, some strategies run for months. Each one is carried on its own timeline, with a final confirmation before December 31 for anything the year is about to close on.

Enter Anytime

Start in any month.

The rhythm meets you wherever the year is. Start in March and we begin with the return. Start in July and we begin with the projection. Start in November and we begin with the decisions that close on December 31.

Tax Advisory Pricing

One published schedule.

A monthly fee for the tax work through the year: the return, a Return Review, a projection, withholding and estimates, and a tax strategy session. Every return is signed by David, an Enrolled Agent.

The monthly fee

$200

a month, for individuals and households

$400a month for business owners, a household with a business return in the year

How it is paid

Monthly, through your secure portal, once you authorize it. Paying for the year in full works too. Tax Advisory replaces what you pay a preparer today, with the return filed by the same team that planned the year.

The handoff

With Wealth Advisory, tax planning is part of your planning sessions. Tax Advisory, through Talley Tax, adds the tax advice and the work behind it: the return, a projection, and withholding and estimates through the year. On its own, Tax Advisory includes the tax planning too.

What the year includes

  • Tax prep, mid-February to April 15: every return you file, prepared, filed, and signed by David, an Enrolled Agent
  • A Return Review alongside your first planning session, and a projection right after
  • Withholding and estimates set from August to mid-October
  • A tax strategy session alongside your second planning session
  • IRS letters handled, questions answered all year
  • For business owners, the business return, owner pay, entity questions, and estimates with real numbers behind them

Just the return

$750 a year, flat, for a simple tax year: no estimates, no business, nothing in motion. Returns with a business, rental property, or K-1s belong in Tax Advisory. Like Tax Advisory, the return alone opens once the Keystone Method™ is complete.

Best for tax lives with moving parts

Tax Advisory earns its keep when income is meaningful, changing, or connected to decisions that should happen before the return is prepared.

High-income households with moving parts
Business owners with profit and owner-pay decisions
Real estate investors with rentals or sales
Pre-retirees and retirees managing Roth, RMD, and Medicare timing

The path to Tax Advisory starts with the Keystone Method™

If we already work together, mention Tax Advisory at your next review or reach out to the office and we will take it from there. If we have not met yet, the Keystone Method at Talley Wealth is where every relationship begins.
